Management Skills of Winston Churchill

A man of great dignity and amazing determination who took Great Britain through the majority of the Second World War. His public speaking skills were short, sharp but highly effective and he was able to inspire people up during the most difficult time in their lives and give them hope to carry on. A man who had an instant connection with others and could earn their trust very quickly whilst also communicating what he needed to. His life experience gave him the most amazing type of leadership mentoring. He had a very warm smile and always looked people in the eye and gave them his full attention.

A creative and courageous man and this allowed him to make some extraordinary decisions during his life at the most important times. He was not famously a charismatic man but had the ability to make people feel like they could do anything after speaking to him. He had the quality of allowing others to achieve greatness without having an overly bearing presence.

Here is an excellent video of Churchill giving a speech:

He had a steely determination never to surrender to Germany and this gave great hope to the people of Britain. He built strong relations with US President Roosevelt while maintaining a sometimes difficult alliance with the Soviet Union.

He lost his position in the election after WW2 but continued to work as the leader of the opposition and gave strong opinions on his belief that the Cold War was not good for his country.

He died in 1965 and was given the honour of having a state funeral.
