Famous Leaders That Inspire Me

I thought that I would talk about famous leaders who have inspired me during my life. They have all achieved great things and have traits in common and thought it would be interesting to look at five of the most famous leaders in the world one by one and share my thoughts as well as, hopefully, get feedback and opinion on them.

Neil Armstrong
This man was the first ever to step on the surface of the moon and I have to admire how much work and effort it took to move outside of his comfort zone and lead this trip onto another object in space. There would have been great risks in this mission and to be the first to take this great step in history is something that will forever be looked back on with great respect. Neil Armstrong spent some of his youth in the Navy and saw action in Korea. His life is has been spent achieving things and meeting challenges head on. He has already been a pilot and this requires a great deal of leadership and ability to provide management workshops to people to work with them to ensure that everyone is achieving their best results at any given time.

Richard Branson
I have to say that I admire many of Richard Branson’s qualities. I have read his biography and he had a difficult time at school as he had dyslexia but this was not diagnosed until later in his school life although it was at school where he discovered his ability to really connect and inspire people to do great things. He first got started on a magazine called Student and this is where it seems he really set himself apart and I admire how he built something out of nothing. It shows his best qualities in my opinion which are his determination to make things in difficult markets and be the best. He comes across as having the ability to be successful whether he was providing vegetarian recipes or an ENT surgeon.

Another admirable quality is his desire to break new ground and do things that other people have previously backed away from. One example would be starting up an airline in which BA would the major force and would often bully other, new companies. Branson has continued to build this company in probably is the most difficult period for the industry since we began to travel using airplanes. He will try most things and is not afraid to fail which is a very admirable quality.

Winston Churchill
A man of great integrity and steely determination who lead Britain through most of the Second World War. An amazing public speaker who was able to pick people up during the most difficult time in their lives and give them hope to carry on. A man who instantly connected with people and could earn their trust very quickly whilst also communicating

He was a man of courage and creativity which allowed him to make some extraordinary decisions during his life at the most important times. He was not famously a charismatic man but had the ability to make people feel like they could do anything after speaking to him. He had the quality of allowing others to achieve greatness without having an overly bearing presence.

John F. Kennedy
JFK was another famous leader that came from a military background. His father was also a politician and this is where JFK famously made his name. He was another famous implementer of change and had to battle through a lot of resistance and anger in many of his policies but this ultimately made him the man he was.

A superb public speaker, he was able to lead people into his way of beliefs through an amazing ability to convey his opinions and a natural ability to earn trust through speaking. He also heavily invested in the space program and made breakthroughs which required him to lead people into the unknown which is very difficult to do.

Martin Luther King, Jr
This man changed the face of the world as we know but putting himself in the public eye and challenging many people to change fundamental ways in which they think about and behave in the world. There were many key marches and movements that he had to lead and which were very dangerous and stressful times in which he had to use great skill to achieve his goals.

He was also a master at public speaking which is another skill often found in great leaders. He could draw on his experience as a preacher and had the ability to engage people during speeches and challenge them in a way that only a few people can. He showed great courage during his life to continually do things which would lead to putting his life in danger and had the ability to not show the strain he would have been under.

Finally
I hope that gives you an insight into some famous leaders that I respect and it would be great to get your thoughts on what I have written above. I've certainly been inspired researching these people and the traits that made them who they are and the things they managed to achieve during their lives and hope that you did too.
